Simone Toellner from AA Networking Education and Matthias Zoephel, student at the QUT, did a survey to get answers on these questions at the QUT gardens point campus.


Tim, 25, Australia, Major subject Accounting

1) "The QUT is a good place for studying especially for Accounting.
It is the best degree in Brisbane."

2) "What I really like here are the girls. But also the weather and the beaches.
The QUT is famous for meeting different people, I like that, too."

3) "Unfortunately I did not get any support from the university."


Dave, 25, India, Master in Information Technology

1) "In a ranking the QUT was one of the top 5 universities for studing IT. I'm sure the QUT is one of the best universities in Australia, the standard here is very high. Besides that I do like Australia in particular Brisbane, it is a very friendly and peaceful country."

2) "The facilities at the university are very good, eg. you have free internet access, wireless lan areas, free software
and a lot more.

Farhan, 21, Brunei, Management of Human Resources

1) "It is very complicated to study in Brunei. So I decided to study abroad. We have a special foundation programm for the University of Queensland, but it is hard to get into. First I applied for the U.Q., but I was declined, later I got
the possibility to study at the QUT and I came here.

2) " I really like the atmosphere here, it is very peaceful that makes studying easy.

3) "I got no help from anyone and I had to do everything by myself."

1) "I chose QUT, because the way of teaching Marketing here is more practical than in my country. Lots of people come from Taiwan to Australia to study Marketing, because Australia is more qualified and more friendly."

2) "I like the teachers, they have lots of work experience and they teach in a very practical way. I don't like to much theory. I really appreciate the assignments which have to do with professional
work than with theoretical ideas."

3)"No, I did everything on my own. I got no financial support."


Mel, 19, Australia, Bachelor of Business and Management.

1) "For me the QUT has a better business section than other Australian universities. That was the main reason why I chose QUT and no other uni. Another not so important reason was, that all my friends are studing here."

2) "The Location is quite good, next to the botanical gardens and also in the centre. I can go shopping whenever I want."

3) "No, I had no support, not at all."

1) "For me the QUT is a very good place for improving my english. I always wanted to learn english in an English speaking country and I chose Queensland like lots of the other students because of the beautiful weather."

2) "I have only been here for a month so far, but I think the QUT is a very good university and also the teachers are very good. Brisbane is a nice city with lots of activities to do."

3) "I got support, but from a Norwegian Student Company, the name is IEC. The only problem was, that I didn't get the right information about studying in Australia or not enough, some important details were missing, and so I was
bit lost. You really should get more and especially the right information."
